Two flats in a huge Hampstead mansion block had been converted to form a large apartment, but had not realised the potential available, creating a rabbit warren of rooms and staircases. Archplan's brief was to rationalise and create a unified dwelling with a single staircase, and open attractive living spaces. A new rear extension was also built to visually link the two halves of the building and allow full width access onto a replanned and graded garden through sliding glass doors.
